The Jews who arrived in Palestine, be it the first, second or fifth migration did so to evade foes and enemies in their hometowns. The Zsar of Russia or Frederick of Prussia, they all were pogroming the Jews who finally had had it and remembered there was some lousy country in the desert they can go live in and hopefully not get pogrommed or gassed to death.
